Training Types

#1 Business Development
This is an advanced training that is delivered in house to chapters covering the benefits of growth. Discussions on who to invite and how to invite will be derived from Why do we invite.
1. Member Success Programme (MSP)
Aim of the workshop
To help participants (old and new members alike) get the best return from their BNI membership by understanding the basics.

At the end of the workshop participants will:
- Understand the referral confidence curve and the continual benefits of a 121.
- Know how to use BNI tools to grow their business.
- Create a 60 seconds that quickly educates fellow members about their business.
- Recognise the benefit of VCP, Visibility, Credibility, Profitability.
2. Referral Skills Workshop
Aim of the workshop
To help participants increase the quantity and quality of the referrals they give and receive.

At the end of this workshop participants will:
- Appreciate how Visibility, Credibility and Profitability are linked to giving and getting quality referrals.
- Be able to identify referral opportunities.
- Have a clear, step by step method for giving and getting referrals.
- Be able to conduct focused and effective 1-2-1 meetings using a variety of tried and tested templates.
3. Networking Skills Workshop
Aim of the workshop
To help participants grow their businesses by employing effective networking behaviours, tools and techniques.

At the end of this workshop participants will :
- Have identified a range of networking opportunities that are appropriate to their business.
- Know what and how to prepare for any networking event.
- Understand how to use online networking to enhance their business.
- Know how to turn networking contacts into real business relationships.
4. Presentation Skills Workshop
Aim of the workshop
To enable participants to present themselves and their business with confidence and impact.

At the end of this workshop participants will be able to;
- Create a short presentation that informs, educates and engages the audience.
- Use words and body language to create the right impression.
- Deliver a short presentation with confidence and clarity to many different learning styles.
- Understand the benefit of using PowerPoint and props to enhance their presentations.
5. Social Media Workshop
Aim of the workshop:
To help participants to understand what social media is, how it relates to them and how powerful it is.
At the end of this workshop participants will:
-Understand what social media is and how it relates to their business
-Have a working knowledge of how to set up Twitter and LinkedIn
-Be able to handle any negative comments
-Have clarity on just how powerful a tool social media is

BNI Annual Quiz Night
Aim of the Quiz night
To create a fun networking event where chapters all compete against one another. The winning team will be donating the prize money to their chosen charity.

Teams of four are entered from each chapter with plenty of support from our Regions members cheering them along.

The annual BNI SSE awards dinner and disco will see each chapter announce their specific member of the year.
There will be an overall chapter of the year and an overall member of the year,(these two awards will be based on Traffic Lights). This will also include a special Givers Gain award for the member who has gone above and beyond.

The session focuses on helping BNI members get the most out of their networking and BNI membership by making their presentations more interesting to others. Not only will people be more engaged in what you're saying, they'll also be more compelled to make the effort to do something to help you grow your business!
Director Consultant (Growth) Forum
A team forum specifically for trained Director Consultants who are Developing chapters across the Region.
Director Consultant (Support) Forum
For Directors, or by personal invite. We meet to discuss how to help chapters, share new ideas from conferences, and increase members visibility within the Region.
Electric 80s Live Tribute Show
For the first time ever, Electric 80s are playing LIVE in Scotland covering bands such as:- Fleetwood Mac, Simple Minds, FYC, Buggles, Tears for Fears, Human League, Mepeche Mode, Heaven 17, T'Pau, Bangles, Heart, B52's, Roxette, Freddy Mercury and Belinda Carlisle plus a guest feature - Saskia (Edinburgh's got Talent Winner) not to mention the professional dancers!!
Goal and Mindset Workshop
Aim of the workshop:
To switch your goal setting mindset to the next level and learn how to plant the seed of positive thought on how to achieving a work and life balance.

We will also look at your BNI business goals for the year with tips and hints on how to incorporate a Givers Gain mentality.
Going Digital
In this workshop we will be showing you how to use Connect to develop your business, use the new BNI app properly and how to create a good BNI profile.
Leaders In Training
This is a must for all members as we cover every chapter role in depth while explaining how to get the best out of your chapter. Breakfast, Breaks and Lunch are all included with a huge opportunity to network with members from across the Region. The whole day Event will also count for three skills workshops in the Traffic Lights and is definitely not one to be missed.
Leadership Team Development Forum
1. Create an opportunity to meet with your fellow LT members from other chapters.
2. Give you the opportunity to present a 60 seconds about your business to the LT's of BNI.
3. Share best practice and build up new relationships.
Network Fly Fishing
Fly fishing and BBQ day on Sunday 18th of June at Markle Fisheries near Haddington (10am start).
£15 per head to fish, including hire of the rod, tackle and tuition. (Also includes keeping your 1st fish!!)
This unique Networking Event is open to families, young and old alike with a bring your own food BBQ from noon.
Networking Golf Day
The Golf Day will provide an excellent platform for some focused referral networking.

To make the most of your day, please arrive around 9.00am, where you will be greeted with a bacon or veggie roll and refreshments.

Registration will take place and the rules of play will be explained to you. Teams will consist of 4 (preferably using members from different Chapters).

After returning from your round, there will be a hot 2 course lunch served within the clubhouse where you can discuss your game and network further with your fellow BNI members.
The Big Business Breakfast
This is a huge networking event that will give attendees the opportunity to build strong business relationships right across the SSE Region. There will be a series of templates issued with the goal of developing genuine business in a fun and relaxed environment. Breakfast rolls will be supplied with limitless tea and coffee, creating a cracking way to celebrate the start of International Networking Week.
The Big Mixer
This event is open to all members to mix with their BNI colleagues from across the Region. The structure is very easy going, wear your chapter badge, turn up and have 121's.
The Green Gathering
